Reclaiming Her - Photoshoot by Siri Huizinga

Siri Huizinga is a Dutch-based photographer dedicated to a women-only philosophy. She creates a safe, empowering space where women can be seen and celebrated on their own terms. Her work focuses on capturing confidence, femininity, and individuality—free from the male gaze.
Beginning her journey in 2024, Siri quickly recognized how differently men and women portray women through photography. Her practice was born from the belief that women deserve to feel comfortable, respected, and beautiful in front of the camera.

Each photoshoot is a process of transformation: initial shyness gives way to laughter, freedom, and self-recognition. Siri’s goal is not to create models, but to highlight the unique beauty each woman already embodies. Her photography uplifts, empowers, and celebrates women in all their forms.

The Reclaiming, Her Project by artist and designer Carolina Pérez Moreno explores women’s complex relationships with body insecurities. Drawing from her own personal journey of body acceptance amid societal pressures, Carolina has created a collection of unique body jewelry that confronts and redefines conventional beauty standards. The pieces, crafted from soft, food-grade silicone and adorned with electroformed copper nodes, highlight the parts of the body women often feel compelled to hide, as well as those they celebrate. Each piece is a powerful symbol of female empowerment, encouraging women to reclaim and showcase the very features they’ve been conditioned to conceal. Rather than conforming to external standards, Reclaiming Her emphasizes the strength and autonomy in choosing how one presents herself to the world.

The project also includes a photographic archive of over 80 images featuring dozens of women participating in this transformative ritual. Through adorning and celebrating their perceived flaws, participants transform insecurities into beautiful compositions, fostering personal healing and sparking a collective reimagining of beauty. The Reclaiming Her Project challenges societal norms, inviting us to redefine what it means to embrace and own our bodies.
